Changing jobs mid mortgage / home buying process?

HI,

This is kind of a tricky situation because I got a referral to a good mortgage broker, from my boss, who also happens to the broker's best friend. So it isn't really something I can ask the broker right now and trust that it wouldn't get back to my boss and cause issues. We're looking for houses locally, I'm pre-approved through this broker, my current job is 2 years+, great credit, etc. A position at another company I applied to months ago came back on the radar a few days ago. Now they want to interview me. It would also be in IT, but if it went through it would be a significant salary increase.I've read that changing jobs mid mortgage process is a bad thing, but I've also heard it is only a problem if you go into a completely different field or quit to start your own business.Would it be safe to assume if I got a better job, in the same field after my mortgage was approved that it wouldn't be a big deal as long as I tell the lender and can show proof of everything? I'm putting the cart far before the horse as we haven't even found a house yet and I'm not far into the process at the other company but this popped in my head while laying in bed in the middle of the night so I figured I should get some feedback early.m not far into the process at the other company but this popped in my head while laying in bed in the middle of the night so I figured I should get some feedback early.m not far into the process at the other company but this popped in my head while laying in bed in the middle of the night so I figured I should get some feedback early.

Any help will be apprecited.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
